New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) opened in 1974. It is a regional, pre-professional arts training center that offers high school students intensive courses for creative careers including dance, writing, culinary, and visual arts.
In 2013, the NOCCA Institute set out to renovate a historic warehouse and transform it into the NOCCA Forum. The 60,000 square foot building expanded the campus and became home to school labs, kitchens, and classrooms.
ARC was hired to provide HDS (high Definition Survey) 3D Laser Scanning and modeling services for the creation of an existing conditions BIM (Building Information Model) of the NOCCA Forum site.
A 2012 Revit model was created from the acquired scan data. This model was used as a basis for the creation of a 3D AutoCAD model and 2D AutoCAD drawings. The 2D drawings included the building’s shell and core floor plans, exterior and interior building elevations, roof framing plans, and building sections.
