The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) initiated the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in 2019. With the CIP in place, OCSD will upgrade, replace, and construct new facilities with an investment of over 2 billion dollars spread through the course of the following 10 years.

Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC) provided HDS (High Definition Survey) 3D laser scanning and modeling services. This project took place at two OCSD project sites: Plant 1 (located in Fountain Valley) and Plant 2 (located in Huntington Beach).

At the Fountain Valley location, the exterior and the interior first and basement levels of the Gas Compressor Building and Electrical Buildings were modeled.

Both sites have a series of tunnels and tunnel intersections that contain piping and pipe racks. ARC modeled 20 feet of the tunnels coming off of each intersection. The two locations also have a series of digester tanks. ARC modeled the exterior, roof, and associated piping of a typical tank.
