Sherman E. Burroughs High School was one of the many school projects in the Sierra Sands Unified School District that Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC) has been a part of. ARC was hired to provide high definition survey (HDS) 3D laser scanning (3DLS) and modeling services for the creation of an existing condition building information model (BIM). Renovation was being performed in conjunction with seismic upgrades for rooftop mechanical equipment.

The BIM was created to a Level of Development (LOD) of LOD200, as defined by AIA Document E202-2008. The model was developed for the use of the design team and served as a base file for the creation of construction documents for modernization purposes. It included minor architectural work and focused on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) elements.
