The Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is located about 40 miles north of San Diego. and covers over 125,000 acres of land. In 2017, plans were made to renovate the recreation center located on Basilone Rd. in Horno (53 Area). The site provides the Marines a place to participate in activities and has a small theater and video game room.

When the building was gutted, seismic damage such as cracks in the walls and concrete slabs were discovered and the client decided to bring in professionals to properly address the issues in order to move forward with renovations. Architectural Resource Consultants (ARC) was hired to provide construction document drafting services for the buildings renovation. As the client’s needs evolved, ARC’s approach and deliverables adjusted as well. The final deliverables for this project included 2D AutoCAD and PDF files of the site plan, floor plans, and reflected ceiling plans.
