The JW Marriott is one of the jewels of the California desert, standing as a cooled oasis in the center of the hot sands. Built in 1987, the lush and luxurious resort includes massive swimming pools, golf courses and tennis courts for the outdoor and sports enthusiasts. The property also includes fine-dining restaurants and a day spa that will surely allow guests to enjoy a pampered lifestyle.

ARC (Architectural Resource Consultants) partnered with WATG (Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo) to provide a field survey and 2D CAD as-builts of the spa building on the premises. Our team utilized total station and handheld lasers to shoot measurements straight into AutoCAD on laptop computers on-site. Walls, doors, windows, plumbing fixtures, ceilings, light fixtures, HVAC grills, smoke detectors, and building elements were located. Additionally, we documented the roof that included overflow drains, scuppers, water flow direction, skylights, antennas, parapets, roof access, as well as more of the HVAC components.

Over the course of five business days, ARC was able to produce imagery of the spa facility. The team then prepared the AutoCAD. All interior work was performed after hours.
