The Wadsworth Chapel is a part of the U.S. Veterans West L.A. Campus. It was built to serve as a place of worship for soldiers in the 1900s. In 1971 an earthquake struck and damaged the chapel, leaving it vacant for many years. Architectural Resource Consultants was asked to scan and model the structure, providing a Historic Building Information Model (H-BIM) examining its current state.

Displayed are Revit shots of the interior and exterior of the chapel. Special attention to detail was considered, given the historical value of the structure. ARC took their laser scan data and produced a single model of the chapel. Since it was completed as an H-BIM, layers of the walls could be opened and the materials of the structure noted. This helped the client determine what was best for preserving and fixing the damage caused by the earthquake.
